Bio:

I'm Jenica Halula, but you can call me Nica!

I produce videos and podcasts at the Fuller Youth Institute. Most of the recent videos involve interviewing young people, which is one of my favorite things to do. If you watch the videos you might see why I think it's so cool to have such deep conversations with these amazing humans! I also produce the podcast "The FYI on Youth Ministry," with some of my amazing co-workers at FYI, and lots of really interesting guests.

I also wrote and illustrated Shep & a Hundred Sheep, a picture book that alludes to the shepherd images in the Christian scriptures.

A long time ago, I juggled on stage with The Fitz Family, a real-life family juggling act. Like… for-real juggling, not metaphorical juggling. Then I toured the country with HappyFunTime, performing improv comedy shows and creating sketch videos, this is where my video production work began, mostly in writing and elaborate prop design.

Since then I've written, produced and edited many educational and nonprofit videos, including Telly-award winning educational videos for Learning ZoneXpress distributed by the Discovery Channel.

I live near St. Paul, Minnesota with my husband, Wes, a writer-director-producer. We have collaborated on many projects, but none have turned out as great as our two teenagers.

I might be biased, but they’re pretty great.
